Who We Are
Chalmer Swain has served Taylor’s clients since 1984. He attended Mesa State College and graduated from Cypress Mortuary College in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Delta Rotary Club, past president of the Delta and Surface Creek Area Chambers of Commerce, past board member of Delta County Memorial Hospital, past Delta County Coroner and past board member of the Colorado Funeral Directors. He and his wife Marge have two children – Matthew and Amber.
Marge Swain received her BS in Secondary Education from Northern Michigan University with a double in major in sociology and political science. She has worked in the funeral home industry since 1986. She is licensed in Colorado for pre-need insurance purposes and owns Taylor Funeral Home with her husband, Chalmer.
Kevin Lucy grew up in Delta County and is the Delta County Coroner. He is certified by the Colorado Funeral Service Board as a Certified Funeral Director and as a Certified Embalming Technician. he has worked in the industry for 28 years; 17 years of it was in the monument business. He and his wife, Lisa, have two children, Kaitlyn and Kyle.
Lance Boren gradauted from Midwestern State University with a BA in 1991 and from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services in 1999. He became a Licensed Funeral Director in Texas in 2001. He began working for Taylor Funeral Service in 2009. He is a member of the Rotary Club and attends Delta United Methodist Church. he has a son, Barak, and a daughter, Kennedy.
Mike Worthington began working for Taylor Funeral Services in 2002 after retiring from the Delta County Sheriff’s Dept. His duties include Crematory Operator, Funeral Assistant and Transportation. He is very active in the Delta Community.
Barry Bullard began work for Mesa View Mortuary-Cemetery in 2002 which later became Taylor Funeral Service. He and his wife, Barbara own Ruby’s Floral in Delta, CO. He has been part of the Delta community since 1973 and was a former Delta City Councilman.
James Gall is an assistant director and grief counselor for Taylor Funeral Service. In addition to these responsibilities, he has been an officiating minister for over 500 funerals in Western Colorado, having retired from a 20 year ministry in Delta County that brought him and his wife Marleen to Paonia in 1979.
Ashton Ulrich is an Apprentice. Ashton Ulrich moved to the Western Slope of Colorado in 2008. Ashton grew up in a military family, allowing her to live many different places in the U.S. Ashton graduated high school in 2008 and has been with Taylor Funeral Service since 2010. She plans on acquiring an associates degree in mortuary science.
