William Glen Griffin

Glenn Griffin, 78, of Somerset, Colorado, passed away surrounded by family.

He was born on September 19, 1947, in Paonia, Colorado. After graduating from high school, he attended Colorado State College in Boulder, where he studied Architecture. He soon moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began working as a machinist — a job that would eventually become a lifelong career.

While in Los Angeles, he met the love of his life, Lynette Elane Schooley. They married and shared 56 wonderful years together, raising five children and building a life filled with love, faith, and hard work.

Alongside his brothers, Irven and Mike, he purchased the company where he had started his career and renamed it Lyn Mar Tool Company, honoring both family and the woman who stood beside him through it all. Under their leadership, the business thrived for over 25 years. Eventually, he moved his family — and his company — back to Colorado, returning to the home and the mountains he had always loved.

Ten years ago, he retired to his favorite place, Buck Creek, where he and Lynette enjoyed their later years together in peace and contentment.

He was a man of deep faith in Jesus Christ, and his belief guided every part of his life. He loved singing and playing the guitar — often filling his home with hymns, country songs, and the joyful music that reflected his heart. His faith, his music, and his love of family defined the man he was.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lynette, and their children:

Thomas (LeeAndra), and their daughters Hannah and Alexis;

Dave (Mona), and their children, Christopher, Shandra, and Cassidy;

Greg (Meegan), and his children James and Taryn, along with stepchildren James, Robinson, and Ruby;

Jeremy (Lisa) and their daughter, Tyler.

He is also preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Kandi, and her daughter, Autumn, as well as survived by Kandi’s children, Dominique and Jacob.

He is further survived by his siblings Irven, Mike, MaryAnn, Lola, and Barbara; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, loyal brother, and faithful servant of God. His legacy of hard work, kindness, and love will live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him.
