Theresa Louise (Ott) Baier, our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother entered into God’s Kingdom on May 27th, 2025. She was in the presence of loved ones when she passed. Theresa was born to Paul Vincent Ott and Eva Nora (Barnes) Ott on April 30th, 1934 in Ridgeley, West Virginia. Theresa graduated high school from Ursuline Academy in Cumberland, Maryland. She worked for Social Security in Baltimore, Maryland. Her pioneering spirit took Theresa, her bother, John, and her sister, Mary, to Fairbanks, Alaska in pursuit of homesteading. There she met and married George R. Baier on May, 23 1959. Together they built a log cabin on the homestead and started a family. They later moved from Alaska to New Mexico, Massachusetts, Maryland, and then to Colorado in 1973.
Theresa loved God and found so much peace and joy in her Catholic faith. She shared her beautiful love for God with her family, in whom she took great pride and joy. Theresa's hobbies included learning about her genealogy, collecting artifacts, fishing and camping trips with family, and fun evenings of card games and scrabble. Theresa is survived by her brother John (Nancy) Ott of Arizona; Her six children: George (Bonnie) Baier, Mary Baier, Peter (Sylvia) Baier, Ernie (Teresa) Baier, Paul (Margaret) Baier, and John (Michelle) Baier all of Western Colorado, 29 grandchildren, and, currently, 37 great-grandchildren. Theresa was preceded in death by Paul Vincent Ott (father), Eva Nora Barnes Ott (mother), Paul Ott (brother), Mary (Bert) Davignon (sister), Jim Ott (brother), George R. Baier and Rafe Lovato (grandson).
