Terry Wayne Boyd

July 23, 1951 — May 10, 2024

Delta, Colorado

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Brother Terry Wayne Boyd, on May 10th, 2024. He was born on July 23, 1951 to David Edgar and Fleda Juanita Wilson Boyd, in Montrose, Colorado. Terry journeyed through life with unwavering devotion and a heart full of love for his family and brethren.

From his earliest days in Colorado,  he embraced his faith and was baptized into the General Assembly Church of the Firstborn in June 1972, marking the beginning of his lifelong commitment to spreading God's word.

On November 3rd, 1973, Terry joined in marriage with Valerie Ann Swezey. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and the guiding presence of God. Their adventure led them to various corners of the country, where Terry diligently pursued his work as a minister of the church,

Baptizing and marrying many, and spreading the gospel. His wisdom and unwavering dedication to the Word of God touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Terry and Valerie were blessed with five children many grand and great-grandchildren. Terry took pride in nurturing their growth and instilling in them the values of faith, love and compassion.

Terry's impact extended far beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of countless brethren and their children. His gentle spirit, and boundless love endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether helping at church camp driving the trash trailer, or simply sharing stories of God's grace, Terry had a unique ability to connect with others and inspire them to embrace their faith.

Despite facing trials and tribulations, including a near-fatal accident in 1980 that bore witness to God's miraculous intervention, his remarkable recovery served as a testament to the boundless mercy and grace of God, inspiring all who knew him to marvel. In his last days he faced strokes and memory loss that left him unable to do the things he enjoyed, but through all of life Terry's unwavering faith remained steadfast.

In later years he found a love of blue grass gospel music and learned to play the dobro. Terry found solace gathering with others to praise the Lord through song. Terry cherished moments spent in nature, where he bonded with his family over shared activities like hunting, fishing, camping and gold panning creating cherished memories.

As we bid farewell to Terry, we take solace in the knowledge that he has been called home he may be absent from us but, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were touched by his love, his faith and his devotion to God and family.
