Shirley Tabor passed away on June 15th at home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, June 24, 2026, at Taylor Funeral Service in Delta, followed by a graveside and potluck at Kayla’s house.
Shirley was born on October 19, 1952, in Orange County, California, to Arla Reidel and MZ Caples. Shirley loved spending her time playing bingo, taking trips to Las Vegas, and shopping, but nothing fueled her soul like spending time with her family. Shirley married the love of her life, James Tabor, in Delta, Colorado. They spent 58 beautiful years together. They raised two sons, Michael and Jimmy Joe. Being a mom to her boys was the greatest joy of her life and the love didn't stop there. When her sons had kids, she made it her mission to be the best Grandma, and she was.
Shirley is preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Joe Tabor; parents, Arla Bollig and MZ Caples; sister, Jeanne; brother, Keith Caples; two infant brothers; granddaughter, Erika Tabor; great grandson, Silas Brown; along with her grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her husband, James Tabor; son, Michael (Brandi) Tabor; sisters, June Butler, Darla Brune, Linda Landis, and Stephanie Wilson; brother, Dennis Caples; grandchildren, Dustin Tabor, Kayla Tabor, Ashley Tabor, Wyatt Tabor, Emmitt Tabor, and Mariah Tabor; great-grandchildren, Mikael Tabor, Adonis Brown, Rhett Tabor, Hazel Kelso, Lashaya Bachman, and Bart Bachman; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
