Ruby Lucille Bowerman was born to Alma Irene and Frank Ross on January 29, 1941, in Wayne City, ILL. She was the oldest surviving child, having had two siblings that died before her birth. Ruby was raised on the family farm in that community. A fact that she was very proud of.
In her youth she lived both in Illinois and Mobile, Alabama.
As a young adult, Ruby went to beauty college and not only competed in beaty pageants, but also managed a prestigious beauty salon in Mobile, AL. It was there that she met and married Douglas. She sold her house, packed it up, and joined Doug in El Paso, TX. This started her role as a supportive military wife. A role that lasted 20 years. During this time, she gave birth to two sons: Colin Leon and Ross Burton. In those 20 years, she survived major injuries, countless illnesses, numerous deployments, 11 major moves (one being overseas), and many other life challenges. Upon military retirement, the family moved to Olathe, CO, where she lived for the remaining 43 years.
She is preceded in death by her mother Alma, father Frank, two infant siblings, and her first husband CT.
She is survived by Douglas - her husband of 62 years; sons: Colin and Ross and their wives Suzi and Gina; five Grandchildren: Collin, Krystal, Kimberly, Michael and Katie, along with their spouse; and 11 great grandchildren.
She has been loved by many in the community and her church.
Heaven is a better place with her there.
