After their retirement, Bob and Joan moved to Cedaredge where they settled into their newly built house along Surface Creek and the walking path in the new Stonebridge development.

Bob was a long-time member of The Benevolent Order of Elks, joining the Englewood lodge and then transferring to the Delta lodge upon moving to Cedaredge. He proudly served a year as Exalted Ruler at this lodge.
