Robert Lee Benge passed away on April 11, 2026, at home with his family. He was 79 years old.

A graveside memorial will be held at 11 am on May 26, 2026 at Riverside Cemetery in Hotchkiss, Colorado.

Robert was born on October 11, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Dorothy Margene (“Gene”) Bullard Benge and Charles Benge.

Robert met the love of his life and his late wife, Susan, in Salt Lake City in 1996. They were married three months later and were inseparable until Susan’s passing in 2013. They moved to California to be closer to their son, Ted, and then made their way to Delta County in 2007 to allow them to be closer to their children, Tracy and Chris, and their grandchildren in Colorado. Robert had proudly worked for the Utah State Government driving snow plows and working on trucks before retiring in the early 2000s. He loved his family, his friends, the Broncos and playing pool.

Robert is survived by his sister, Connie, his children, Jeannie, Mark, Tracy, Ted, and Chris (and Scott), his nephews, Jerry and Mike, and his many loving grandkids.
