Rita A. Sussman

Rita A. Sussman passed away, July 2, 2025 at her residence in Hotchkiss, Colorado.

Memorial service to be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 11 am at Hotchkiss United Methodist Church followed by reception in Stewart Hall in the church.

Rita was born on December 23, 1950 in Kansas to Martha Schaus (Yantz) and Edgar Schaus. She grew up in WaKeeney, Kansas and graduated Trego County High School in 1968.

Rita met Bob and they were married on February 1, 1980. They celebrated 45 years together.

Rita and Bob moved to Delta County making Hotchkiss their home in 2005. Rita has been a resident of the Western Slope for 20 years. As a part of the community Rita was involved in Hotchkiss United Methodist Church, Peace Circle, P.E.O., S&B Quilters, the local Food Bank and Wear House Thrift store.

Rita is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Tricia Over (Rich), son Willy Seigh (Suzanne), six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to Peace Circle or Hotchkiss United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
