Rafe Anthony Jones stepped out of his earthly vessel on April 21, 2026, in Montrose County, CO. He was born August 22, 1961, in Ransom, Utica, KS to parents Bobbie Patricia (Butler) and Glen Lyle Jones. He was raised from a young age in Cedaredge, CO where his mother's family has been located for generations. He married his wife, Peggy McClarren, on May 1, 2004.

Rafe worked in construction building homes in Colorado and California until he began his own construction company, Shavano Woodworking, Inc. He always said it wasn't just his creation because without the loyal, long-time employees and customers, there would be no business. Rafe and Peggy sold the company and retired in October 2024.

He was an avid motorcyclist and snowmobiler and was riding his motorcycle when he died with his boots on living his best life.

He is survived by his mother and wife, 3 brothers, Matthew (Glenda), Dirk (Arlene), Lance (Salynda), 3 sisters, Angi Clark (Billy Rodel), Lisa Oeltjenbruns (Roger) and Terry Gunter (Rick), 12 nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews and one great-grand niece. Rafe was also survived by stepdaughter Tiffany Whittington, 3 step-granddaughters and 5 step-great grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his father and one nephew.

His vessel was cremated at Taylor Funeral Service, Delta, CO. An Honoring of Rafe's life will be held June 7, 2026, Pa-Co-Chu-Puk Campground Guest Event Center, Ridgway, CO.
