IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Quintin Wayne
Gray
June 19, 1972 – February 28, 2026
Memorial Service
Calvary Baptist Church
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Mountain time)
Quintin Wayne Gray was born June 16, 1972 in Delta Colorado to Robert and Cynthia Gray. He spent his childhood in the Pea Green area on a small cattle ranch and farm. Quintin attended school in Olathe, graduating from Olathe High school in 1990. Following his graduation he attended High-Tech Institute in Scottsdale Arizona, earning a degree in Computer Aided Drafting.
He returned to Colorado where he became employed as an electrician with several different companies in the Montrose/Delta/Grand Junction area and he traveled to a number of locations from California to Oklahoma applying his electrical skills in residential, commercial and industrial construction. He was passionate about the quality of his work especially in his ability to create, what many people described, as artwork in bending electrical conduit. He took a number of people to a particular project in Montrose to show them what he and his brother had created. When not working Quintin enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hike the many trails of the Roubideau Canyon and the Uncompahgre Plateau He enjoyed listening to the music of the 80’s.
Quintin had his share of life struggles. He was married three times with all three ending in divorce. However, from his second marriage he fathered a son, Benjamin. He suffered from seizures caused by tuberous sclerosis in early childhood but they went into remission for about 20 years until they returned, resulting in several hospital stays and interfered with his ability to continue doing many of the things that he loved. In the spring of 2025 he was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer but he continued to set goals for himself for when he got back on his feet. He never gave up his fight to achieve these goals and one friend who kept in contact with Quintin’s progress described him as “having the heart of a lion”. Comfortable in his personnel faith and surrounded by family and friends he passed away peacefully on Saturday February 28, 2026 at Colorow Care Center in Olathe CO. He was 53 years old.
Quintin is survived by his mother Cynthia and step-father Marvin Shipley of Pea Green; father Robert Gray and step-mother Melanie of Olathe; one brother Adam and his wife Tina of Pea Green; Son Benjamin and wife Aspen of Eckert, Grandmother June Ayers of Delta as well as a step-sister Ashley Fletcher and husband Chip of Steamboat Springs Colorado; step-brothers D.J. Mehas of Olathe Colorado, Derek Shipley and wife Jessika of Denver Colorado and Geoffrey Shipley and wife Colleen of Aurora Colorado. In addition he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial service to celebrate Quintin's life will be held on Saturday March 14, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1290 A Street, Delta Colorado beginning at 11:00 am with Pastor Greg Teel officiating. At the conclusion of this service you are invited to join the familyat the church for a luncheon and fellowship.
