Phillip R. Riley passed away peacefully at Delta Memorial hospital. He was surrounded by his family.
Phillip R. Riley was born on August 14, 1950, He was 75 years old. He was born to Eileen and Theodore Riley in Hunington, Indiana. He graduated from high school in 1968. He attended college and received a degree in construction management. He later moved to Boulder, CO, where he worked at the Ford dealership and met the love of his life, Jeannine A. Gies. They were married August 19, 1978. The couple moved to Lyons, CO, in 1986. The couple built their first home and made many wonderful memories.
Phil worked in construction for many years. He worked all over the state of Colorado, and helped build some of Colorado’s biggest highways, and assisted with projects such as Denver International Airport along with many other statewide projects.
Phil and Jaennie moved to Hotchkiss, CO in 2007 where they built their forever home and settled in for retirement. Phil and Jeannine enjoyed traveling together, gardening, canning, riding his Harley, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Phil was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
Phil is survived by his son William Gies of Hotchkiss, CO, 2 grandchildren Monica (Husband Brian Betrus) of Johnstown, CO, and Rachel (Husband Matt Hernandez) of Windsor, CO. Phil had 7 great grandchildren: Jordan, Marek, Kaiden, Kenadie, Aspen, Kiley, and Quynn. One great great grandson, Mayson, and his brother Pat and his wife Dianne. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannine of 43 years and his daughter Debbie.
The family would like to greatly thank the amazing nurse staff at Delta Health and HopeWest Hospice. Services will be held in the summer when the family and friends can come together and celebrate Phil’s amazing life.
