Peggy Ann Dickerson

December 5, 1934 — November 11, 2025

Pea Green, Colorado

Peggy Ann Dickerson was born December 5th, 1934, in Delta, Colorado, to Opha (Davis) and Allie Fraser. She passed away peacefully at her home near Pea Green, Colorado, on November 11, 2025. The middle child of seven children, she grew up in the Delta-PeaGreen area, graduating 8th grade from PeaGreen Community School and later graduating from Olathe High School in 1953. She met the love of her life, Gary Dickerson, in her early adolescent years.

The two were married February 28th, 1954, and celebrated 65 years of marriage before Gary’s passing in 2019. They raised their three children on the family farm, south of Pea Green, instilling in them perseverance, work ethic, and a love for the agricultural lifestyle.

In high school, she joined organizations including Future Homemakers of America, Pep Club, and 4H. Her passion for 4H led her to become a club member and then a leader during her children’s youth. She continued to support her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in local 4H programs, as well as their sporting activities throughout her life. All of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would say she was their biggest fan, attending all their activities and performances.

She started working at a young age babysitting and later at the Pea Green Store. She also spent many hours out on the tractor assisting Gary until she found her true calling as an Avon representative, which spanned over 50 years. Through her business, she formed countless connections with her customers. She received numerous Avon awards, but she took pride most in her lifelong friends she made along the way. She retired in May of 2025, at the age of 90.

Peggy and Gary loved to play in Pinochle and Bridge Clubs in the community, but they especially loved dancing. In their later years, they enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Hawaii, PBR Events and Cheyenne Frontier Days. She loved cooking for friends and family, and her idea of tailgating was to provide a large spread of home-cooked goodness for the family cattle drives.

Peggy’s charismatic nature drew people to her, and she was always full of spunk and good humor, even through the challenges of the last few months of her life. She was always reaching out to everyone, concerned for their wellbeing and happiness. She wasn’t just Grandma Peg to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; countless others called her Grandma Peg after they felt her love and warm spirit. She faithfully called family and friends on their birthdays, singing to them with delight. She enjoyed many things in life, but her family was her greatest pride and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful workers (her “angels”) of HopeWest Hospice of Montrose.

She is survived by her children, Richard (Florence) Dickerson, Robert (LeaAnn) Dickerson, and Rebecca (Jerry) Allen; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and siblings Shirley Kunkel, Chuck Fraser, and Ralph Fraser. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary, and siblings Frances Price, Don Fraser, and Marilyn Gallob. Services will be held at 10:00 am on December 1, 2025, at Rivers Church 762 Dodge St Delta, Colorado. A lunch reception will follow at the Pea Green Community Hall. Donations may be made to Hopewest Hospice of Montrose.
