Norma Kay Whittaker “KAY” passed away Saturday, December 31st, 2022, at her residence in Cedaredge, Colorado. She was 83 years old.
Kay was born on October 31st, 1939, to Melanie Hilda (Wetterich) and James Kenneth Grant in Cedaredge, Colorado. She grew up and graduated from Cedaredge High School in 1957. She continued with some college courses, furthering her education.
On July 21st, 1961, Kay married the love of her life William “Bill” Russell Whittaker in Cedaredge, Colorado. They made their home with three daughters, mostly in Grand Junction and Palisade, retiring to Cedaredge in 1993. Kay’s chosen career path was as a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, reading, and playing Mah Jongg. Her cat also brought her great joy. Kay loved to spend time with her family and especially the grandchildren.
Kay is survived by her loving husband Bill of Cedaredge, CO; three daughters: Christine Whittaker of Montrose, CO, Andrea (Fred) Judson of Palisade, CO, Sherri (Ed) Erler of Albuquerque, NM; and two grandchildren: Whitney and Colby Erler.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents and sister Jeanne Foreman.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kay’s name to HopeWest Hospice: 195 Stafford Ln, Delta, CO 81416.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
