Melvin Aldus Roberts

Melvin Aldus Roberts passed away on April 19, 2024, at his home in Delta, Colorado.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Valley Lawn Cemetery in Montrose, Colorado. 

Melvin was born on May 30, 1935, in Montrose, Colorado to Berniece H. Trone-Roberts-Frasier and Henry B. Roberts. He graduated from Montrose High School in 1952. He married Peggy Lou Caldwell on March 12, 1954. He spent most of his life ranching sheep and cattle, driving trucks, and farming. He enjoyed playing music with his family and friends, playing horseshoes, going gambling, horseraces, fishing, hunting, and time spent with his family, friends, and grandkids. He was quick witted, kind, and a good, honest, hardworking family man. 

He is survived by his children, Lynn C. Roberts (Shauna Kop) of Olathe, Colorado, Larry D. Roberts (Debi) of Victor, Idaho, Elaine K. Schutte of Twin Falls, Idaho, Arlene S. Holman (Buddy) of Delta, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Berniece H. and Henry B. Roberts; his wife, Peggy Lou Roberts; his brothers, Vernon L. Roberts and Gary W. Roberts; his son-in-law, Robert G. Schutte; and grandson, Levi Roberts.
