Martin Oda Sipple passed away peacefully Tuesday December 16th, 2025 at home in Delta, Colorado. He was 72 years old.
Mary was born on December 10, 1953, in Dover, Delaware to Maurice and Sarah Sipple. Marty grew up in Leipsic, Delaware.
After graduating from Dover High School, Marty joined the United Sates Army and went to basic training at Fort Gordon in Georgia. He served in the United States Army retiring as a Staff Sargent, Section Chief. Marty received many medals including a Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged in 1981.
After the Army, Marty worked for the railroad in Delaware before working and retiring as a Correction Officer for Delaware State Department of Corrections.
Marty was also a volunteer Fire Fighter for Leipsic Delaware for almost 40 years.
After retirement Marty and his wife Susan (Lohrmann) Sipple (deceased 2003) moved to Colorado where Marty worked construction and was owner operator of “The Truck Guy LLC”. He finally retired from work in 2019.
In 2012 Marty married Patricia (Patti) Holt in Montrose Colorado. Marty and Patti moved to Delta Colorado in 2013. Patti would sometimes join Marty on long haul trucking drives across the country. Marty was an avid hunter and fisherman who hunted and fished all over the country.
Marty had many titles in his life. Military Veteran, Corrections Officer, Firefighter, husband, father brother, uncle and great friend. However, his greatest title will forever be Pop Pop to his three granddaughters.
Marty is survived by his wife Patricia Sipple of Delta; His daughter and son-in-law Christine (Christopher) Hearing, Granddaughters; Gwendolyn, Arwen and Eowyn Hearing all of Delta, sisters; Dollie Cubbage and Donna Sipple, brothers; Wayne (Joan) Sipple, Nieces; Stacey Christianson, Adrienne Sipple and Katie Lauren Sipple, all of Delaware.
Marty is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Sarah Sipple; his wife, Susan Sipple; sons, John Martin and Jason Andrew Sipple; brother, Maurice “Buddy” Sipple; and niece, Melissa Ann Lowman.
A funeral is to be held later in the springtime in Delaware. An announcement will be made when dates are finalized. Arrangements are being made through Taylor Funeral Home in Delta Colorado.
