Martha Aileen Dicamillo

Martha Aileen Dicamillo went to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 11, 2026, passing peacefully at her home in Montrose, Colorado, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born on September 9, 1944, in Laramie, Wyoming, to LaJoy Culver-Krill and Edward Krill, Martha spent her early years in Montrose on Spring Creek Road near Shavano Valley. After her mother remarried Owen Simonds, who adopted Martha and her siblings, the family moved to Ouray and later Eagle, Colorado. Martha attended Junior High and High School in Eagle, where she was a cheerleader.

Martha dedicated many years of service as a County Clerk and Recorder and County Administrator for Eagle County. She later moved to Denver and worked as an Assistant to the Chief of Staff at Swedish Hospital. Pursuing a new path, she obtained her Real Estate and Broker’s license alongside her cousin Russ Ellen and owned Eagle Valley Properties for several years before selling the business to care for her mother.

In March 2007, Martha met John Dicamillo, and they married in April of 2009. She became a loving stepmother to John’s three grown children and grandmother to three grandchildren. Martha cherished traveling, with favorite destinations including Costa Rica, the Caribbean Islands, and Hawaii—a dream trip fulfilled during her illness.

Martha was preceded in death by her mother LaJoy; biological father Edward Krill; adopted father Owen Simonds; sister Louise; and brother Danny. She is survived by her husband John; brother Mike Simonds; stepchildren Michelle Dobbs (Timothy); Christopher Dicamillo (Lynna), Briana Humble (James); grandchildren Devin Dobbs, Brennen Dicamillo, Bailey Dicamillo; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service with Luncheon will be held at the Montrose Christian Church, 2351 Sunnyside Rd., Montrose, Colorado, on Saturday, July 18th at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice at: hopewestco.org.
