Marlys Jean Hilton

Marlys Jean Hilton passed away at Horizon Care Facility on May 11, 2025, after a short illness.

Marlys was born on September 17, 1925, in Maher, Colorado to Maggie and Charlie VanDenBerg. She was #9 of 10 children.

Marlys attended school in various communities and graduated from Olathe High School in 1943. She moved to San Francisco immediately afterward and met her future husband, Kenneth Hilton, there. They were married on April 21, 1945, and celebrated 70 years together before his passing.

Marlys and Ken began their marriage in San Bruno, California and welcomed 3 daughters, Janet, Elaine, and Jeanine while living there. Later they moved to Napa, California and retired to Paonia in 1980. After Ken’s death, Marlys spent the remainder of her life at Crossroads in Delta.

Marlys was a homemaker and enjoyed her home, family, and friends, as well as many hobbies: gardening, quilting, and knitting.

She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, Mateo, who she declared was the “cutest thing she had ever seen!”
