Mark Anthony Valdez

Mark Anthony Valdez, 59, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2026. He was born in Leadville, Colorado on November 26, 1966. Mark’s family moved to Delta, Colorado in 1974 where he spent most of his growing years.

After graduating from high school in Delta and receiving a scholarship to the Denver Institute of Technology, Mark moved to Denver. He successfully completed that program and became an HVAC Journeyman. He was justifiably proud of some of the professional awards/certificates he received. In his free time, Mark was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, snowmobiling and skiing.

Mark was never married but throughout his life he was surrounded by a large family who loved him and who miss him terribly. Mark is survived by his parents, Tony and Roselyn Valdez and his two brothers, Rick and Rudy Valdez. Other members of his immediate family circle are his niece Felicia Valdez and his nephew and wife, Aaron and Nicole Valdez. In addition, Mark has numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from both his mother and father’s side. Of notable mention, Mark is also survived by Spooky, a black cat he loved.

Services will be held at Taylor Funeral Services, 682 1725 Road, Delta, CO on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 2 p.m.. Mark’s burial service will be held in Leadville at a date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family and Spooky are suggesting donations be made to Delta County CAWS (Citizens for Animal Welfare and Shelter), an organization that provides emergency shelter and adoption for cats.
