Marion Earl Shaw

Our beloved father passed away at Beehive Assisted Living on January 24th, 2024 after a brief illness at the age of 90. We are saddened but realize he is finally able to join our mother and his wife, Delia, and many of his family and friends he has acquired along the way.

Dad grew up on a ranch near Nucla, CO and attended primary schools there. The family moved to Delta where he graduated from Delta High School in 1951. He attended Colorado State University and received his Bachelors degree and eventually a Masters degree. His first teaching position was in Paonia and eventually at Delta where he taught Ag at Delta High. He also worked at Mesa College as a career placement associate and worked at Delta Vocational Tech as a Director.

He is survived by his children Carol Holmes (Jim), Jerry (Anny), and Mark. He has four surviving grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

His genuine interest in others and his warm easy smile won him many friends. Marion’s sense of humor carried him throughout his life. He will be missed by family and friends.

The funeral will be held at Taylor Funeral Service on February 9th at 10 o’clock and a celebration of his endearing life will follow at the Grove.
