In Loving Memory of Madeline Simineo
A Tribute to a Life Well-Lived
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Madeline Simineo, departed this world on June 3, 2025, at the age of 96. Madeline was a mother to 7 living children: Charlie, Trulla Stinnett (Paul), Pete (Marvel), Rhoda, Delbert (Jackie), Annie Shepherdson (Jim), Robert (Cindy), grandmother to 18, as well as a great grandmother to many. She was born in Texas County, Oklahoma. She was the eldest child of Bill and Zella (Smith) Briles. Her early years were spent in the dust bowl days in the Panhandle of Oklahoma. She graduated from Cedaredge, Colorado High School in 1947. She then attended and graduated from the Apostolic Faith Bible College in Baxter Springs, KS then Western State College in Gunnison where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education.
She married Ted Simineo in the Powderhorn School located on the Powderhorn of Gunnison County, Colorado on March 21, 1953. At that time, she was teaching in the school. She continued teaching at remote locations such as Buckland Alaska, and Lake Valley, New Mexico. In between her teaching career she worked for Delta County Public Welfare and Park County Public Welfare (where she was the County Director). Throughout her journey, Madeline displayed a faith in Jesus Christ, and a commitment to serving the underserved. Upon her retirement she sat weekly at the back of the Delta County Drug Court and prayed for individuals going through the court for approximately 20 years.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ted, son Frederick, all three of her siblings, Richard, Eula and Ross. Additionally, her daughter-in-law Margie. She also experienced the death of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on July 11 at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Delta. CO at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Apostolic Faith Bible School, Baxter Springs, KS which helped form her foundation for life.
