Lucille M. Steinbach passed away peacefully per her wishes at her home in Cedaredge, Colorado on August the 10th, 2026, surrounded by family.

Born on January 27th, 1935, in Peru, Illinois to Robert and Lucille Smith.  Lucille grew up in LaSalle/Peru, Illinois and graduated at the age of 16 from Saint Mary's Catholic School.  She went on to marry Donald Steinbach of Ogelsby, Illinois in 1951.  During the early times of their 56 year marriage, they had four children:  Don, Julie, Bill, and Cathy.

Lucille and Don moved their family to Colorado in 1965, and continued to enjoy the West; camping, fishing, crafting, sporting events, and just raising a happy family.  Lucille was known for her craftiness while the kids were still in the home.  She did ceramics, crocheting, quilting, toll and China painting, sewing, and even riding on the back of Don's motorcycle.  She was known for her quick wit and making people laugh, of which she certainly did, especially in her later years.  Her favorite line was, "If you can't have fun in life, it's not worth living!"  Lucille also never met a stranger.  Lucille's life was full of adventure.

Lucille is survived by her son, Don (her personal caretaker of over two years), Julie, Bill, and Cathy.  She was much loved by five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  Per Lucille's wishes a Celebration of Life will take place in the late spring of 2027 with details to follow.
