Lois "Arlene" Trautman

Arlene Trautman, known by many as Cookie, passed September 18, 2026, in her home. She was 98 years old.

Graveside rites will be at 2pm on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Mesa View Cemetery in Delta, Colorado.

Arlene was born November 30, 1927, in Ranken, Illinois, to Lena Morger (Davis) and Frank Morger. She graduated High School at Findlay High in 1945. A few years later she got her cosmetology license, which she held for 40 years.

She met James Trautman in high school and they married June 10, 1946. They had 74 years of marriage where the only thing that stopped them was James passing in August of 2020.

They moved to Battlement Mesa in 1984 to be closer to their three children, Deb, Jan, and Dana.

She is survived by her son, Dana (Jennifer); grandchildren, Kevin, Ezra, Nehemiah, Noah, Zephaniah, Jenny, and Stephanie; great-grandkids, James, Jonathan, Alun, and Jackson; and her great-great granddaughter, Rayna.

She and her husband were avid square dancers. Arlene enjoyed being a part of the community helping with welcome wagons in Ohio, meals on wheels in Rifle, and volunteering at the hospital here in Delta. Home hobbies included baking and candy making during the holidays, crocheting, sewing, and finding ways to entertain the grandkids.
