Linda Sue Durfee

Linda Sue Durfee, 75, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at Colorow Care Center in Olathe, Colorado.

Linda was born on May 18, 1950, in Colorado to Joseph John Wigner and Marie M. Schmaltz. She grew up in Colorado and was a high school graduate.

Linda spent much of her working life in the food service industry as a hospital dietitian, a career in which she took pride in caring for others through her work. Later in life, she made her home in Delta County, where she was a resident of the Western Slope for many years.

When she wasn’t working, Linda enjoyed simple pleasures — time with family and friends, sharing stories, and staying connected with those she loved. She will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and her devotion to her family.

Linda was widowed at the time of her passing. She is survived by her child, Heath Durfee of Delta, Colorado, and by many beloved brothers and sisters.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph John Wigner and Marie M. Schmaltz, and by her husband, Hal Branson Durfee.

There will be no formal services. A private family and friends gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Linda’s life.
