Lawrence Erwin Ertenberg passed away on Friday January 19, 2024 in Grand Junction, CO. He was 83 years old.

Larry served our country as a Marine. After his honorable discharge in 1963, he started his long career in construction. Which is where he built that extremely strong hanging drywall grip, we’ve all experienced by his shoulder squeezes.

Larry and Jan (Janet) Fausett (Rowley) moved to Paonia in 1994 and built their home on Garvin Mesa. They were together for over 40 years, until Jan’s passing in March of 2020.

He enjoyed gardening, puzzles, drinking with friends and eating hot peppers with every meal.

Larry is survived by his son Eric Ertenberg (Heather), sister Sue (Tom) Fredenberg, brother Jerry (June) Ertenberg, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Jan (Janet) Fausett and brother Rick Ertenberg.

Services will be private. There will be a Life Celebration on Tuesday January 30, 2024 at the American Legion post 97 in Paonia at 3pm local time. In memory of Larry and Jan, because if you knew one of them you knew both.
