Julia Leon joined her husband Reuben and their baby girl Phyliss Renee on February 27, 2026, at her home.

Julia was born to Jennie Vigil and Alphonso Tafoya in Hotchkiss Colorado where she spent her childhood and graduated from high school.

She married Reuben M Leon on June 15, 1962, making their home in Delta, Colorado. She lived her life as a wife and mother, home maker, grandmother and great grandmother. She spent her later years working at the family produce stand. Her hobbies included embroidering, making baby blankets for her grandchildren and tending to her flowers.

They had four children, all girls. As stated, they lost Phyliss in 1967. She is survived by daughters, Helen Bowman (Heidi Hess), Julia “Becky” (Steve) Davis, Carmen (Nolan) Hale, and son Keith W. Bowman.

Grandchildren, Steven, Rusty, and Jon Bowman. Ryan and Dylan Hale, Alyssa (Ray) Justice, and Sarah Davis (Patrick Stadelman). Great-grandchildren Amaiya Bowman, Ayden, Kellen, Kyler Terry, and Ezra Justice. All of whom she adored. Sister Fran (Gene) Massey and brother Ed Tafoya.

Her memorial service will be March 9, 2026, at Taylor Funeral Service at 1pm followed by a graveside service.
