Joyce was born on February 22, 1934, to Mary and Michael Trocchia in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in Denver and graduated from South High School and continued her education at Denver University, graduating with a degree in Education. She was a first grade teacher for 25 years. When not working, she enjoyed traveling, teaching vacation Bible school, watching Bronco games and reading/watching mysteries until her eyesight failed, then she enjoyed sitting in the sun and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She met Lyle in high school, and they married on August 10, 1952, celebrating 59 years of marriage until Lyle’s death in 2015.
Joyce came to live in Delta, Colorado after a fall and breaking her hip in 2016.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Farmer of Hotchkiss, Colorado, and Cathy White of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; grandchildren, Reece Farmer, Colton and Tori Farmer, Faline, and Jesse Head, all of Hotchkiss, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Liam, and Hannah Farmer, Oliver, and Eli Head of Hotchkiss, Colorado. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Lyle; sister, Beverly Reeves; and brother, Richard Trocchia.
A small service will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on August 9, 2024, at 2:30 pm.
