In Memory of Joseph James Stroh
Joseph James Stroh of Hotchkiss Colorado passed away at St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital on October 28, 2025.
Joe was born on March 19, 1979, in Grand Junction, Colorado to John and Jeannie (Patterson) Stroh. He graduated from Hotchkiss High School in 1997. Upon graduation Joe attended Colorado School of Mines and later University of Northern Colorado in Greely. On February 22, 2003, he was married to Traci Lea Roesler at the Methodist Church in Delta, Colorado.
While living in Greeley Joe was a feed lot manager working for Conagra. He and his wife Traci moved to Hotchkiss in 2004 where he worked at Crystal Springs trout farm. In 2006 he had a son Lane Brenden, followed by a daughter Kiera Shae in 2009, and another son Chael James in 2011.
In 2014 Joe started ranching at his grandparent’s homestead on Rogers Mesa
Joe was actively involved with coaching all three of his children in baseball and softball over many years. He was happiest on the ball field. Joe also enjoyed raising pigs and assisting the children with their 4-H projects. Joe not only helped his own children with their projects but helped many others in the community learn and grow with their own. He loved to hunt and fly fish. Over the years he spent less time hunting on his own, but more time dedicated to teaching his children the outdoor lifestyle.
