John was born and raised in York, PA. He then moved to the Western Slope of Colorado, where he was a resident for over 63 years. He was 91 years old when he passed away.
John was a mountain man who enjoyed the peace and quiet of being alone in the great outdoors. John’s favorite color was blue, and there was nothing he loved more than spending time with his daughter. They enjoyed watching football and eating their favorite meals together, such as spaghetti, beef pot roast, and mashed potatoes. His favorite saying was, “Faith, Family, and Freedom.”
John’s hobbies included, reading, raising cattle, coffee with his friends at Aspen Trails and Church. He never missed a haircut and bard trim either. He had a great love for eagles and had a huge eagle collection to prove it. John also collected and ready every Louis L’ Amour book that was published.
John served in the Army for two years. He was stations in Spain and Germany and fought in the Korean War.
John has seven children, seventeen grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. For those who cared and loved him most, he will be missed very much.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 10am at the Nazarene church in Cedaredge CO.
