John Michael Buerger

September 16, 1948 — March 27, 2026

Cedaredge, Colorado

John Michael Buerger, a beloved husband, brother, stepfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on March 27, 2026, at his cherished home in Cedaredge, Colorado.

Born on September 16, 1948, in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, John was the beloved son of Bob and Wilma Buerger, who predeceased him. John's journey through life was marked by his boundless passion for the earth and its wonders. After graduating from Arvada West High School and attending Mesa College, he embarked on a life of service and adventure.

A testament to his altruistic spirit, John dedicated four transformative years to the Peace Corps in Ecuador, South America, subsequently spending an additional three years immersed in the rich culture of Costa Rica. These experiences profoundly shaped his worldview, instilling in him a deep appreciation for nature and humanity.

In his professional life, John was the proud owner of Alpha Natural, a business that reflected his unwavering commitment to the environment. He pioneered the use of all-natural soil applications, steadfastly avoiding chemicals and pesticides, which earned him the respect and admiration of clients and colleagues alike. His work was not just a livelihood but a testament to his lifelong love for the earth.

John's personal life was equally rich and fulfilling. Eight years ago, he married his soulmate, Beth Ann Weimer, and together they shared a partnership filled with warmth, laughter, and mutual respect. John embraced Beth's family as his own, becoming a devoted stepfather to six daughters and one son. His legacy of love and kindness will undoubtedly live on through his seventeen step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren.

A man of faith, John was an active member of True Life Church in Cedaredge, where he found a welcoming community that mirrored his values. His presence there was characterized by his ever-present smile and his remarkable ability to make everyone feel at ease, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.

John's love for the great outdoors was reflected in his hobbies. An avid fly fisherman, hiker, and camper, he found solace and joy in the natural beauty that surrounded him. His adventures in the wilderness were a reflection of his free spirit and deep connection to nature.

John leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Beth Ann Buerger; his sister, Susan; and his brothers, Al and Jim Buerger. His legacy of love, laughter, and commitment to the earth will be carried on by his extensive family and the many friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth.

To honor John's remarkable life, a memorial service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at True Life Church in Cedaredge. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in John's name to environmental conservation causes, continuing his lifelong dedication to nurturing the planet he so dearly loved.

John Michael Buerger's life was a testament to the beauty of living with purpose, love, and gratitude. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit continues to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
