JoAnn M. Luster

JoAnn Luster peacefully passed away on April 14, 2026, in Delta, Colorado. She was 88 years old.

JoAnn was born on November 10, 1937, to Anna Vera Palenik and Joseph Ambrose Sekan. She was the youngest of five Sekan children. JoAnn grew up in Buchanan, Michigan attending Dewey Elementary School and graduating from Buchanan High School in 1956.

She met Orris Luster and they were married on April 26, 1958. She worked at Clark Equipment Company through the early years of their marriage until she became a mother in 1961. In 1966 they moved to Ohio and then in the fall of 1971 to the foothills west of Golden, Colorado where they resided for the next 46 years. Orris and JoAnn briefly moved to central Pennsylvania in the late 1980’s for work purposes but returned to their Colorado mountain home upon retirement a few years later.

JoAnn loved making a home for her husband and sons. When her boys were older, she worked at a greenhouse where she enjoyed cultivating plants and flowers. She loved nature and spent many years camping and traveling with friends and family. She was an accomplished seamstress and cross-stitcher whose work is treasured by her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, baking, cooking, and being creative. She was always cheerful, always happy, and always positive.

JoAnn is survived by her sons: Thomas and Daniel, and by her grandson, Nicholas, and granddaughter, Courtney.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna; husband, Orris; sisters, Eleanora and Emily, and brothers Joseph and George.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Services and Crematory in Delta, Colorado.
