Jo Ann Leftwich

Jo Ann Leftwich peacefully passed away Saturday, May 3,2025 in the presence of her family at her residence in Delta, CO. She was 87 years old.

She was born October 26, 1937, in Grand Junction, CO to John and Elaine (Newton) Baughman. Due to her father’s work as an exploration geologist with Standard Oil, Jo’s childhood involved many moves between 8 different states and they also spent time in Havana, Cuba. It was there that she graduated high school in 1955 prior to moving back to the United States where she attended college in Hiram, OH.

She and Arthur (AG) Greenhill were married in Hotchkiss, CO in 1957 and spent a brief time in Texas before moving to Palisade, CO where AG taught school. They had four children, two of which died in infancy, and were divorced in 1964. Jo remarried in 1965 to Harley (Lefty) Leftwich, and they had two sons.

Jo was a gifted artist in various media and enjoyed many hours knitting and crocheting gifts for her family and friends. She always enjoyed a good laugh, and her chocolate chip cookies were a special treat. In her later years, Jo was blessed with the company of several neighbors as they met to do Bible study in her home.

Jo is survived by her oldest son Karl (Julie) Greenhill (TX), daughter Laine Greenhill (CO), son Erin (Kim) Leftwich (CO), and youngest son Jesse (Robyn) Leftwich (CO), 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents (John and Elaine) Elaine’s second husband (Richard), her sister (Karla) two children (Gary and Glenda), both of her husbands (AG and Lefty), and her friend, companion, and stepfather to Erin and Jesse (Jerome Craig Jr.)

Memorial services will be held at Taylor Funeral Services at 682 1725 Rd. Delta, CO on May 17th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hope West @ https://www.hopewestco.org/donate/
