Jimmy Joe Tabor

Jimmy Joe Tabor passed away April 8, 2026, at St Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, surrounded by family. He was 54 years old.

Services will be held at Taylor Funeral Home at 2pm on Tuesday, April 14th followed by a graveside and potluck at Michael’s house.

He was born December 22, 1971, to Shirley and James Tabor in Montrose, Colorado. He graduated from Central High School in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Jimmy had an adventurous spirit and loved spending his time playing music, being outside and most of all spending time with his family. He spent a number of years living in Texas before returning back to Colorado, then moving to Arizona, Nevada, and Missouri before finally returning back home to spend his final years. He was a compassionate person with the kindest soul. "There are some that bring a light so bright to the world that even after they have gone the light still remains."

Jimmy Joe is survived by his Mother Shirley Tabor, Father James Tabor, Brother Michael Tabor (Brandi Tabor), His Daughter Mariah Tabor, Nephews Dustin, Wyatt and Emmitt Tabor, Nieces Kayla and Ashley Tabor, Grandchildren Lashea and Bart Bachman along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is proceeded in death by his Daughter Erika Tabor, Great nephew Silas Brown, along with his grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

If sending flowers the preferred location is Cocos flower shop in Delta, Colorado.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
