Jerry LaBounty passed away on March 22 at HopeWest Hospice Center in Grand Junction, CO surrounded by family and a chorus of morning birdsong.
Jerry LaBounty was born September 11, 1943, on Catalina Island, CA to Edward and Alvaretta LaBounty. He served in the Navy Sea Bees during the Vietnam War and then worked as a master plumber and the owner of LaBounty Plumbing & Heating/North Fork Rentals.
Jerry met Janie Coulter in 1968 and married her on June 14, 1969. They lived together in Paonia, CO for 56 years creating a home, a family and contributing to the community.
Jerry was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman, spending much of his weekends exploring the mountains of Western Colorado. He loved gardening, rafting, going for drives and spending time with friends at the American Legion.
Jerry is survived by his wife Jane and three children: son Shawn, wife Joyce, children James and Abby; son Dan, wife Sophie; and daughter Lisa, son Isaiah. Also, by his brother, John LaBounty and his sister, Joan Bucher. And will be missed greatly by his steadfast Shih Tzu, Willie.
Services will be held in May at the American Legion. Date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, feel free to donate to a charity of your choice.
