Jerry Lee Harris

Jerry Harris, of Cory, CO passed away 11/22/2025. He was 78.

Jerry is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter Rachael, grandson Malaki & wife Sierra, two great grandsons Harrison and Hendricks and four sisters; Martha & Charlotte of GJ, CO, Ruth in West Virginia and Sadie of Phoenix, AZ.

Jerry was born on 5/27/47 on the family ranch outside Hotchkiss, CO to Marcelino and Abnilda Harris. He grew up in Delta, CO and graduated from Delta High School in 1965. He moved to Denver and met Barbara and they were married in 1968. Jerry graduated from St. Anthony’s Hospital Radiology School in 1971. Daughter Rachael was born in Denver in 1972. Jerry pursued his career and moved to Fairbanks, AK in 1973.

Jerry returned to Delta County in 1986 where he turned his hobbies of leather work and antique furniture refinishing, into a business. The Star Trading Post sold saddles & tack, antiques and collectibles. After the business closed Jerry enjoyed working on his cars and attending car shows. He was very active in his garden and also created many wonderful stained glass pieces.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 280 SE Jay Ave., Cedaredge, CO. A reception will follow at Orchard City Community Room at 9661 2100 Rd. 2:00 - 4:00 pm.
