Jerry Douglas Galemore

June 12, 1941 – June 11, 2026

Jerry Douglas Galemore passed away peacefully at his home in Delta, Colorado, on June 11, 2026, just one day shy of his 85th birthday.

Jerry was born in Mississippi County, Missouri, on June 12, 1941, to Helen Galemore (Roach) and L. E. Galemore. He grew up in Charleston, Missouri, where he excelled in track and football. He graduated from Charleston High School in 1960.

Jerry loved horses, the outdoors, and the mountains. He was an outfitter in Carbondale, Colorado, for many years, where he shared his passion for the wilderness and western way of life. After retirement, Jerry relocated to Delta, Colorado, where he enjoyed working on his property alongside his best friend, Tommy.

Jerry treasured time with his family. He traveled to spend time with his children and grandchildren, especially enjoying visits to Kentucky Lake, where he spent many summers with his parents and siblings boating and water skiing.

Jerry is survived by his children: Donna Butler (Kevin) of Columbia, SC; Dana McClain of Benton, KY; Cindy Brown (Todd) of Benton, KY; and Justin Galemore of Arizona.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Grant Butler, Travis Butler, Logan Butler, Emily McLaughlin, Edward McClain, Gary McClain, Jack Brown, Max Brown, Andrew Galemore, Gabby Greer, and Jessica Galemore; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his brothers Lawrence Galemore (Jean) and Richard Galemore (Debbie), and his sister Brenda Mutchler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sandra Williams.
