Jeannie Byers

June 4, 1935 — October 29, 2023

Esther Jean Byers born June 4th, 1935, in Montrose County, Colorado, to Oscar and Ollie Pfister.  She was the youngest of nine children. She always said even though times were tough she had a very happy childhood.  She grew up in the Olathe area and attended school there.

Jeannie was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn on June 6th, 1947, by Brother Lem Byers.

On June 6, 1954, she was married to Bob Byers, the love of her life. To this union were born three children: Rob, Gail, and Hal.  They were happily married for 58 years.  They always enjoyed their time together raising their children and spending time with each other.  Bro. Bob and Sis. Jeannie always tried putting God first in their lives helping one another and the brethren, family, and friends.  If there was ever a child born, someone sick, or in need, here came Sis. Jeannie with one of her famous chocolate cakes.

While Bro. Bob ministered the Gospel, preached funerals, performed marriages, and baptized many, Sis. Jeannie labored as a midwife.  She loved her labor, being with the sisters in childbirth.  Over the years, she was able to help bring 163 babies into the world.  She and Bro. Bob walked hand in hand, heart in heart, serving the Lord.  At a young age, Jeannie learned to play the guitar.   She would play music with her daddy and her sister, Pat.  She never lost her love for music and playing the guitar.

Jeannie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She was a dear friend to many and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother and dad; eight siblings; husband, Bob Byers; son, Rob Byers; daughter-in-law, Pam Nation; great grandson, Seth Byers; great granddaughter, Ella Byers.
