Frances Neely Zarret passed away, Monday, July 18th, 2022, at Delta Health Hospital in Delta, Colorado. She was 87 years old.
Services will be held at Saint Andrew’s Orthodox Church at 298 Bert St, Delta, CO, at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23rd, 2022, and graveside service to follow at the Delta City Cemetery in Delta, CO.
Frances was born on November 22nd, 1934, to Estella (Oliver) and Wayne A Ehret in Delta, Colorado. She grew up in Delta and graduated from Delta High School in 1953. She then continued her education at Mesa Junior College graduating with an associates’ degree in 1955. She taught 5th grade for one year, before meeting James at the March Airforce Base in California. James was in the Army protecting the Airforce Base. She then also spent some time as a department store clerk.
April 10th, 1955, she married James Zarret, the love of her life. They celebrated 67 years together. In their time together they traveled the world. With James being called on to serve in the Army they were able to live in many countries. James and Frances had the opportunity to visit more than 50 countries and travel all 50 states while working with the Army and several contractors for the Army. They made their way back home to Delta in 1995 returning from White Sands missile range, New Mexico.
Frances was always very active. She enjoyed traveling, she was an excellent skater, skier and backpacking partner. She was a master bridge player and was part of the ACBL-American Contract Bridge League. She was also a very active member of the Saint Andrews Orthodox Church in Delta.
Frances is survived by her loving husband; sons Edward Lee (Debora) Zarret of Colorado & New Mexico and Richard Eugene (Lela) Zarret of Las Vegas, Nevada; and four grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
