Fern Lee Archer passed away July 20, 2025 at Delta, Colorado, she was 84 years old
Celebration of Life services will be held for Fern, Robert, and Angel Archer at 12:00 pm, September 20, 2025, at Raber Cow Camp on the Grand Mesa to be followed by a gathering at the Grand Mesa Lodge at 2:00 pm.
Fern Archer was born on August 14, 1940, in Kiowa, Colorado, to Margaret Mary Smarch and Harold Truman Weaver. She was a 4th generation Coloradoan on her father's side.
She met Robert Ray Nelse Archer, and they were married on August 31, 1957. Before Robert died on August 23, 2024, they had an early celebration to commemorate 67 years of marriage. Fern was just a baby when Robert first saw her and he tried to take her off of a table and hold her, and they said no. He always said he would get back at them, so years later they became husband and wife. Fern and Robert lived in Ft. Lupton and Aurora, Colorado, before settling in Westminster, Colorado, for over thirty years. This is where they raised their four children. Fern was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother to her four children. Fern and Robert retired and moved to Delta, Colorado, in 2004, making Delta their home for the past twenty-one years. Fern enjoyed getting together with family and friends for holidays, camping, picnics, or just a visit. She loved getting to know people and to joke around to make people smile and laugh. She made a lot of friends, and they all loved to be around her.
Fern is survived by her children Tarey (Teri) Archer of Delta, Stephen Archer of Delta, Tena (Marvin) Adair of Silt, and Brenda (Dennis) Adair of Palisade; and her five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and seven sisters.
Fern is preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
Fern's final request was to have her ashes spread with Robert's and their dog Angel's on the Grand Mesa where she loved to fish, camp, picnic, and spend time with family and friends, and enjoy God's creation. The love, laughter, and caring she brought everyone will be forever in our hearts.
