Ethel Elizabeth (Phillips) Dickson

Ethel Elizabeth (Phillips) Dickson passed away surrounded by her family on November 5, 2024. She was born on December 21, 1929 in Whittier, California to parents, Chauncey E. Phillips and Caroline W. Phillips (Burns). 

The family moved to Big Bear City, California in 1935 and moved to Bell, California in 1941. She graduated from Bell High School in 1948. She continued her education at Compton Jr. College for two years and then UC Santa Barara for one year. She was employed as an assistant to the purchasing agent for Wholesale Hoage until 1957. She then met Charles H. Dickson, and they married on November 9, 1957 in Fawnskin, California. Two children were born of this marriage, David Charles Dickson and Susan Cheryl Dickson. She was employed for 30 years as Bus Driver and Instructional Aide for special needs kids at the Big Bear Middle School in Big Bear Lake, California. She was a member of Dancing Bears Square Dance Club for 30 years. Ethel retired in 1996. She then moved to Hotchkiss, Colorado in 2006. In 2019 she moved to Crawford, Colorado with her daughter and Terry Baker until her passing. She liked square dancing, reading books, watching old movies and puzzles. She was member of Hotchkiss Senior Center and Hotchkiss Lions Club. 

Proceeded in death by parents, Chauncey E. Phillips and Caroline W. Phillips (Burns); sister, Cathy Bird; son, David Dickson and ex-husband, Charles Dickson.

Survived by daughter, Susan Cheryl Dickson (Terry Baker) of Crawford, Colorado, and brother, Eddie Phillips of Arizona.
