Esther Louise Arbaugh Granzella age 84, passed away January 8th, 2024, with her family in Grand Junction Colorado. Esther was born in a small cabin on Monarch Pass, near Salida Colorado, on July 6,1939 to Ester Lofgren Arbaugh and Lonnie Leo Arbaugh. Esther was the second youngest of three children.
After graduating from Salida High School, Esther married Ralph Joseph Granzella on March 15, 1958. Married for 64 years, they raised three sons: Ronnie, Timothy, and George in Delta, Colorado.
Just as the poet described, Esther was a great mother: “A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take." Her support supplied security and unconditional love; she brought out the best in people and always had a smile and helping hand to share. Retiring with husband Ralph they enjoyed traveling in their RV with friends and family for over 30 years across the United States, Canada and into Alaska.
Esther is survived by her sons Ronnie (Linda), Timothy (Dana), George (Lynn), six grandchildren, Ryan Granzella, Natalie Reed, Jesica Granzella, Patrick Granzella, Ashley Cobb, Danielle Boie and six great grandchildren, Jerome Reed, Alya Reed, Peyton Brock, Colton Brock, and Gianna Brach. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lonnie Arbaugh Jr., sister Sharon Kay Granzella, and grandson Justin R. Granzella.
Funeral Mass will be held at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta at 10:00 am, Friday, February 23rd, 2024.
