Emma Faye (Klaseen) George passed away at Mantey Heights Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was 87 Years old. Emma Faye was born on September 17, 1936 to Carl Richard Klaseen and Helen Daisy (Miller) Klaseen in Crawford, Colorado. A Crawford native, she attended school in Crawford and grew up on Fruitland Mesa. Emma Faye was an active 4-H member for 10-plus years and continued to be a 4-H leader as an adult and parent.
Emma Faye married Stanley James George on June 24, 1956. They were together for 62 years until Stan passed away in 2017.
Emma Faye was a part of numerous community clubs, was a YFU exchange director and host, and a foster care parent. Emma and Stan believed in helping those in need. One year, Emma Faye was chosen as Grand Marshal for Crawford Pioneer Days. She and Stan loved to dance and host family gatherings that everyone could enjoy and laugh together.
Emma Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Stan; mother and father, Richard and Helen; brother Charles Klaseen, sister-in-law Betty Klaseen, brother-in-law Dale (Gabby) George, and grandson Ian Adams.
Emma Faye is survived by daughter Linda (Stan) Miller, son Leroy (Mary Jo) George, and daughter Teresa. Grandchildren; Danelle (Clint) Ridenour, Stacy (Matt) Silzell, DJ (Paul) Derby, Kirby (Sarah) George, Kim (Mike) Peterson, Courtney (Tommy) Fisher, and Mariah (Austin) Walker, as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.
