Long time Delta resident, Eloise Sanderson, died on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. She was 93.
Services for Eloise will be held at 10am, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Calvary Baptist Church in Delta, with Pastor Greg Teel presiding.
Eloise Jean Sanderson was born on July 25, 1932, to Leonard T. Anderson and Beatrice M. Anderson in Montrose County, Colorado. She graduated from Olathe High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation, she married Bobby Joe Sanderson.
A year later they welcomed their first child, Katherine, and three years later welcomed their second child Vicky. They had lived in the Delta area for 53 years when Bobby passed away in 2003. Eloise continued to make her home in Delta until 2022, when she decided to move to Tucson to be near "her girls".
Mrs. Sanderson worked as a full-time mother and homemaker. She enjoyed creative arts such as working with stained glass, sewing, knitting, crocheting, as well as reading, canning, baking, traveling, and spending time with family. She was a member of the Needlers Club and of the Calvary Baptist Church in Delta.
Those grateful to have shared in Eloise's life are her late husband, Bobby Sanderson, her daughters Katherine (Gary), Vicky (Jerry) of Tucson, AZ, granddaughter Stephanie (Kevin) of Litchfield Park, AZ, and grandson Ryan of Tucson, a sister, Vernell Sanderson of Delta, and a brother Chet (Darlene) Anderson of Santa Maria, CA. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby, two sisters, Louise and Ruby, an infant brother Leonard, and a number of nieces and nephews.
