Donna Ruth Garrison, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. She was born on November 4, 1933.
Donna was known for her strength, wit, and her love for all things artistic and colorful. She touched many lives with her compassion, wisdom, humor, and unwavering support. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, meaningful conversations, or simply being present for those she loved, Donna made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Donna graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Art and carried her creativity throughout her life. She once painted murals, including a beautiful mural in her home in Montrose. In her later years, she traded murals for furniture painting, covering cherished pieces in countless colorful layers. Her family lovingly joked that all the paint was what kept the furniture together for so many years.
Donna spent a good portion of her life married to the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Moore, who became a devoted father figure to her son, Eric. She loved singing at church and brought joy and warmth to every Easter gathering, always making the holidays feel special for her family. At Christmas, her loved ones eagerly looked forward to the hand-crocheted stockings she made with each family member’s name carefully stitched onto them — a tradition that reflected the love and care she poured into her family.
Donna was preceded in death by Bob Moore; her faithful companion, Candy; her parents, George and Ruth Garrison; and her brothers, Robert Garrison and George Garrison.
Donna will be deeply missed by many, especially her loving family: her son Eric and his wife Jenna; her granddaughter Mandy Morris and her children Madison, Jedson, and Nathan; her grandson Kristopher Morris, his daughter Destiny Morris, his fiancée Kelsie, and their children Monroe and Adelynn; her granddaughter Jillian Morris, Stepson DeLoss, Tara and son Mike Morris and his sons Matthew Morris and Daniel Morris.
Her family takes comfort in imagining Donna reunited with Jesus, likely being told she had to sit in the “time out chair” because of her ornery nature — something everyone who knew and loved her appreciated dearly.
Her legacy of love, creativity, humor, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew her.
You will always be missed.
