Ecclesiastes 3:1 ~ A time and a place for everything under heaven.
This was one favorite scripture of our mom, the heart of our home. Mom cherished the dawning of a new day. She would faithfully recite her rosary as she observed the rising of the sun and every night again in gratitude for another day. She cherished the beauty of every season mother nature provided. The blessings of colorful flowers, the nourishing touch she possessed with anything she placed her loving hands on. The millions of incredibly perfected tasty meals mixed with all her love spoke volumes.
She was a collector of many various items. She gave generously from her heart and often sacrificed when she couldn’t. The little education she received motivated her to read. There was little she wasn’t well versed in. She knew history, retained legendary names, knew her religion, politics, and joyously possessed the adrenaline rush most sports provided. Mom loved to write, to sing, and to persevere in serving God. She taught that God provides jewels in our crowns as we make our best efforts to serve Him. She appreciated clean windows for vision, spiritually, as well as seeing the beauty that mother earth provides. A light house was always a symbol of God’s guiding light.
Her 95 years of blessings provided depth in wisdom, committed to learn, forgive and above all to love with all her heart. Mom knew she was an imperfect soul, opinionated and obstinate in character, but still lovingly pursued God’s Holy will daily. Mom gracefully accepted her unbearable pain, enduring her cross until the dawning of a new day when she walked into the arms of Jesus, and “Whispered, here I am Lord, in whom I pray, You are well pleased, I did my best!”
