Dean Arthur Ross “Cowboy” passed away in the company of family at the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction on Thursday morning September 4, 2025. “Cowboy” fought a valiant battle with cirrhosis and passed away at the age of 71.

Dean was born in Craig, Colorado March 16, 1954, to Nora Ellen Stone and Ervin Gene Ross. He grew up mostly in and around Meeker and Cedaredge Colorado. Dean joined the Army right out of school and after returning home he made his way to Oklahoma. There he worked in the oilfield as a driller and tool pusher.

Dean made his way back to Colorado where he began working ranch jobs and breaking horses in and around Cedaredge and other various places in Colorado. Dean eventually went back to working in the oilfield. He traveled around chasing the rigs to places as far as Saudi Arabia. Dean loved God, his mama, horses, the ladies, his Harley, family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all those he has left behind.

Dean is survived by his mother Nora Eversole, three brothers; Jack Ross, Micheal Ross and Jay Ross, two sisters; Tonya Ridings and Nora Ross. He will be greeted by his father Ervin Ross, and two brothers, Lawrence Ross and Darrell Ross, who went before him.

There will be a celebration of life for Dean, to be held at Rivers Church located at 762 Dodge Street, Delta, Colorado on Saturday September 20, 2025 at 11:00am. Please join us as we gather to say Farewell to our beloved brother and friend. “Cowboy”
