Dayton A. Myers, Sr., was born January 20, 1937, in Akron, CO, to Raymond Myers and Dorothy Helen Sparling. He went home with the Lord on April 6, 2026, in Delta, CO. He lived his entire life in Colorado. Dayton graduated from Adams City High School with the class of 1955. He attended CSW for 1 year.
On January 25, 1958, in Brighton, CO. He was united in marriage to Gertrude Wilson. They were married for 68 years before his passing. They raised 4 boys. In August 1973 they relocated to the surface creek valley on the western slope. He lived there the rest of his life. Dayton worked in grocery stores most of his life. He retired in 2000 to play with his grandkids. Dayton loved to rockhound, go to yard sales and hunt. But most of all he loved the Lord and his family.
He is survived by his 4 sons and his wife and daughters-in-law, Dayton, Jr. and Karla of Cedaredge, Don and Debbie of Haxtun, CO, Kenny and Marilyn of Cedaredge, Billy and Jonie of Cibolo, TX.
Ten grandkids—Krystal Noielsky, Brad of Clawson, MI, Patti Busby, Brian of Delta, Zach of Elizabeth, Sarah Erickson, Colin of Delta, Elyah of Langdon, ND, Rebekah of Haxtun, Melissa Hofuis of Cedaredge, Raelynn Tempel, Wayne of Cibolo, TX, Ian and Carol of Williston, ND, Jared and McKenzie of Houston, TX.
Nine great grandkids—Chris, Jacob, Dixie, Brigitte, Becca, Devon, Paxton, Jackson, and Tish. Two brothers, Hugh and Roland. He also leaves a host of friends.
In place of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be given in Dayton’s name to HopeWest.
There will be a Celebration of Life in June.
