David Martinez Perez passed away on September 22nd, 2026 at the age of 67 surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, son-in-laws and extended family lovingly by his side in Delta, Colorado.David was born in Encarnación de Diaz, Jalisco, Mexico to Jesus Martínez Ramos and Maria Del Socorro Pérez Ramirez on July 10, 1959. At just 17 years old, he came to the United States carrying with him the grit, determination, and strong work ethic that would shape the life he built for himself. It was in California that he met his wife, Rosario. Together, they would go on to build a life and raise a family of their own.In 1993, he moved his wife and three children Esmeralda, David Jr., and Valeria to the beautiful state of Colorado. The following year, they welcomed Natalie, the youngest of the siblings, completing their family.Colorado was where David’s passion for business and farming took root. While working as a factory mechanic, he and his wife, Rosario, proudly purchased a home with farmland in the town of Delta. He built a small farming business raising pigs, though rarely without its share of chickens and goats as well.Above all, David was a family man. He had no shortage of dad jokes, hard taught lessons, and trying new recipes every so often to feed his family on the weekends. He loved making a giant mess of nachos where his children all gathered on the living room floor while watching movies together.His family grew with grandchildren who lovingly called him “Grandpo.” His daughter Esmeralda gave David and Rosario their first grandchildren: Julian, Isabella and Marissa. By 2019, his daughter Valeria gave birth to the youngest grandchild, Selena.David was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. Though his passing was not unexpected, the knowledge that it was coming could never prepare those who loved him for the emptiness his absence would leave behind. Nunca faltaban sus bromas típicas de papá, las lecciones de vida que impartía con firmeza y el entusiasmo por probar nuevas recetas para alimentar a su familia los fines de semana. Le encantaba preparar grandes fuentes de nachos para compartir con sus hijos mientras se reunían en el suelo de la sala a ver películas.La familia creció con la llegada de nietos que cariñosamente lo llamaban "Grandpo". Su hija Esmeralda dio a David y Rosario sus primeros nietos: Julian, Isabella y Marissa.
