Danny Ray Cornelison, passed away Saturday December 16, 2023peacefully at StMary's Hospital. He was 75 years old when he passed away, surrounded by his daughter and family. Danny was born on August 31st1948, in Grand Junction Colorado, to Mother Maxine Cornelison and Father James CornelisonHe grew up in Grand Junction and completed his GED so he could enlist into the United States army in 1965 at 17 years old, where he served in VietnamHe married Carmen Bowhay, and they had two children Dion, and Tonja. He spent most of his adult life in Grand Junction, where he worked as a surveyor, which was something he really enjoyed doingWhen not working Danny enjoyed playing guitar, that was his main passion in life, jamming with his friends. He also loved fishing, camping, hiking, and hunting. Danny would drop anything to be able to help someone in need, he truly had a heart of gold, he was an amazing man. Danny is survived by his daughter, Tonja Jorgensen (Jim Jorgensen) from Hotchkiss, ColoradoHe had four sisters, Linda Chavez (Patrick Chavez), from Barstow, California. Mary Cornelison, from Springfield Missouri. Joyce Woodruff (John Woodruff) From Fordland, Missouri. Sherri Cornelison from Eckert, Colorado. He has five grandchildren; Christine Carlberg, Madison Reed, Cassidy Reed, Shane Reed, and Emma Reed, and one great granddaughter Delilah Olsen. Danny is preceded in death, by his parents James and Maxine, his son Dion, and his granddaughter Christine. We will have military service for him later.
