Daniel Roy Long passed tragically on July 14, 2025. Danny was born to Roy and Lucile Long (McCracken). He grew up on tongue creek, attending Eckert School, Cedaredge Junior High, and graduated from Delta High School with the Class of 1979.
Danny was baptized in General Assembly & Church of the Firstborn at 18 years old. In 1979, Roy and Danny bought Roy’s dad’s place and went out on their own farming and ranching where they successfully operated together until Roy passed away in 2018.
On August 16, 1986, he married the love of his life, Raya Bellew, who would always help him on the Ranch. To their union, 3 children were born: Lukas Roy Long, 8/20/1987, Cullen Daniel Long, 5/15/1993, and Dustin Ray Long, 6/23/2002.
Danny Loved farming, ranching, cattle, horses, dogs, cats, animals in general, his family, especially his parents, Roy and Lucile and wife Raya, Ford vehicles, Mack trucks, John Deere tractors, Honda 4 wheelers, George Strait, Chris Ledoux, little kids, friends and neighbors. He loved Delta County and the U.S.A.
Danny is survived by his two sons, Cullen (Kenna) Long and Dustin (Anna) Long, all of Austin, Colorado; his in-laws: brother, Doug Bellew of Redmond, Oregon; sister, Kari Bellew of Eugene, Oregon; brother, Ryan (Shelia) Bellew of Beaver, Oklahoma; brother, Curtis (Sara) Bellew of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Rusty (Brandi) Bellew of Austin, Colorado; brother, Scot (Naomi) Bellew of Portland, Oregon; and brother, Paul Bellew of Taiwan; his aunt, Sandy (Larry) Lugard of Delta; aunt, Marg Jackson of Tucson, AZ; uncle, Doug (Nina) McCracken of Olathe, CO; and many precious nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Raya Long, his son, Lukas Long; his parents, Roy and Lucile Long, parents-in-law, Ray and Wanda Bellew; and four special nephews and two special nieces; and his grandparents, aunts and uncles
